In January, legislation was proposed to eliminate the OT Licensing Board in Wisconsin. These bills, called SB 568 and AB 726, proposed to replace the current board with a new medical therapy board. The proposed board would have four physical therapists, one message therapist, one athletic trainer, and only one OT.

At the public hearing on January 23rd, Teri Black and WOTA lobbyist Bob Welch spoke against these changes, and the bills were not passed.  Read Teri and Bob's complete testimony against these bills here.

While WOTA helped prevent the elimination of the OT licensing board in 2016, these bills will be revisited in 2017.  Your membership helps support WOTA's legislative activities.  Renew your membership today and continue to help support OT in Wisconsin.
